oooh october! pumpkins, candy corn, swine flu?

yes, we are waiting for the now popular swine flu shots. our children have had the seasonal flu shots and now with all the hoop-la(and scare on my part) we're having the kids get the swine flu shots. not to mention, we know people who have gotten it, a little scary. thankfully, everyone's doing better and recovering well. i'm trying not to be freaked out about it all, however, that's easier said than done, especially with 4 young children including 2 who go to school where germs of all kinds are in abundance:) but mason assures me that it'll be ok. he'd better be right...this time for sure.

this morning before school we went over with ella about germs. She likes to share her snack with anyone and everyone and lets kids drink out of her water bottle. she was so confused when we told her she absolutly can NOT do that anymore. She was heartbroken and couldn't eblieve we were telling her she couldn't share. Though it was funny to see her reaction we were pretty adamant about sharing, germs, etc. It was a bit sad when she told me one of her friends doesn't have food at home and she's always starving. I had to assure her that if she was hungry she could tell the teacher and she would take care of it, but she didn't like that idea so we packed an extra granola bar.

anyway...sorry for the novel...just saying that we're freaking out over germs over here too.

I'm freaked out about the swine flu too! And that is REALLY not like me. So yes, my kid will be getting the shot too - once it finally makes it to my pediatrician's office. In the meantime I'm becoming obsessive about hand sanitizer (she sucks her thumb!) and staying away from sick kids. Hopefully the seasonally flu shot she already got will keep her healthy.
